Hon’ble Union Minister, Dr. CP Joshi on Wednesday has commented on
the Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) system, that the Ministry of Road Transport and
Highways (MoRTH) in India will deploy the ETC system based on RFID
Technology on all national highways in the country by 31 March, 2014.
Further he has stated that “The RFID technology shall expedite the
clearing of traffic at toll plazas, and eliminate the need for carrying cash”
